Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We at Applied Prevention Science International (APSI) have been working to develop evidence-based professional education materials and conduct prevention training here and abroad for the past 7 years. We are now pleased to announce the opening of our new APSI Education Center to support prevention professionals in their efforts to stay current with the ever-evolving developments in the prevention field. Our new Center will offer beginning and continuing education that covers foundational knowledge, epidemiologic methods and strategies, implementation systems, and monitoring and evaluation of evidence-based prevention interventions and policies for the community. We are orienting our training and educational materials to those prevention professionals working in planning and policy development at multiple levels of the government and private sector, in addition to those who supervise and provide direct services at the community level.
While the Center is focused on providing professional education in a variety of modes, including online, face-to-face, and blended combinations of both, during this Covid-19 pandemic, we are conducting online moderated courses with ‘real-time’ interaction between our trainers and participants. To maximize effective communication, we are limiting each class to 30 people. Our first set of 3-hour moderated sessions will be held on September 24th and 29th starting with Evidence-based Prevention Interventions and Policies: New Tools for Prevention Professionals. Following these sessions will be Planning for the Implementation of Evidence-Based Prevention Interventions and Policies, October 6th and 8th; then Ethics for Prevention Professionals, October 13th and 15th.
Attached is a flyer on the new APSI Education Center and summaries of our first three courses. For more information, please click here to reach our website https://www.apsintl.org/ and our new center, https://www.apsieducationcenter.org/. We hope to ‘see’ you soon.
