NRVCS Community Wellness & Outreach recently utilized a portion of its Partnerships For Success (PFS) funding to launch a new awareness campaign around overdose and opioid misuse, in response to a documented increase of overdoses in the New River Valley region over the past nine months.

A major component of the campaign is a :30-second television spot that is currently airing on both WDBJ-7, the CBS affiliate for the Roanoke market, along with its sister station, WZBJ-24. The ad is also being shared via NRVCS’ various social media platforms. You can watch it here:

The campaign, which launched on August 31 (International Overdose Awareness Day), is continuing through September (Recovery Month) and will lead up to the next Rx Take Back Day event on Saturday, October 24.
