I received several questions about SOR Year 2 Prevention funding, particularly with regard to “carryover” funds. Please read the Q&As below for important clarifications to my Portal post from yesterday (8/19/19)!
Q. During the VACSB Prevention Council call on 8/16/19 you mentioned “carryover” funds. Is carryover of SOR Year 1 Prevention funds allowed?
A. No, and I apologize for the confusion. During the 8/16/19 VACSB call, I said that I would consult with Gail upon her return and then would post on the Portal with the SOR Year 2 proposal requirements. After checking with Gail, I changed the word “carryover” to “unused” funds in item #4 of the Portal post. We are not authorized to carryover funds.
Q. How will SOR Year 2 funding be determined and when should we expect to receive it?
A. Funding will mainly be based on need, and performance during SOR Year 1. The proposals will be evaluated collectively. Our goal is to issue Notice of Award letters in September so that funds are sent in Warrant #7 on October 1, 2019.
Q. SOR Year 1 funds covered six months. What about SOR Year 2?
A. SOR Year 2 funds will be for expenditures from October 1, 2019 to September 30, 2020.
Please post below with any other questions. Thank you!
