This is just a friendly reminder that the Virginia ABC Alcohol Education and Prevention Grant cycle closes in just 9 days. Applications are due next week on April 25 by 5 p.m. These grants are made available to assist community partners in developing and enhancing initiatives related to alcohol education and prevention. Applicants must address one or more of the following focus areas:
- underage drinking prevention
- social providing or social hosting prevention
- high-risk drinking prevention
Organizations may apply for funding up to a maximum of $10,000. Colleges and universities, community coalitions, law enforcement, nonprofits, schools, faith-based organizations and prevention-related groups are encouraged to apply. Grant applicants should propose projects that build partnerships and embrace collaboration to achieve a meaningful, and measurable, long-lasting impact.
Even if you are a returning Grantee, it is mandatory to complete the online training course “Grant Applicant Pre-Training” each fiscal year for a new application to be eligible for review. The online training is on the ABC External domain of the Commonwealth of Virginia Learning Center (COVLC). Online training instructions and the grant application are on our website at https://www.abc.virginia.gov/education/grants. (To locate the training within the COVLC, search for “Grant Applicant Pre-Training” and click on the option that is “Checked in.”)
Feel free to contact me at the email address below if you have any questions. We look forward to receiving your applications!
