Region Ten CSB partnered with the entire Fluvanna County Public School district to train all 400+ staff members (teachers, administrators, counselors, custodial and support staff) in trauma & the brain, ACE, and introduced the concept of trauma-informed care.

Using material and data from ACE Interface and the Community Resilience Initiative, this half-day training was an introduction to ACE and brain science. Fluvanna County has committed to at least two follow-up trainings for all district staff to delve deeper into resiliency and creating trauma-informed schools, with the opportunity to do more focused workshops at individual schools. Region Ten is thrilled with the opportunity to spread understanding about trauma, and give schools the tools the help all of their students feel safe and be able to learn.
