Virginia ABC’s Education and Prevention Section (EPS) is now accepting grant applications for the upcoming fiscal year! These grants are made available to assist community partners in developing and enhancing initiatives related to alcohol education and prevention. Applicants must address one or more of the following focus areas:
- underage drinking prevention
- social providing or social hosting prevention
- high-risk drinking prevention
Organizations may apply for funding up to a maximum of $10,000. Colleges and universities, community coalitions, law enforcement, nonprofits, schools, faith-based organizations and prevention-related groups are encouraged to apply. Grant applicants should propose projects that build partnerships and embrace collaboration to achieve a meaningful, and measurable, long-lasting impact.
Even if you are a returning Grantee, it is mandatory to complete the online training course “ABC EPS – Grant Application Training” each fiscal year for an application to be eligible for review. The online training is on the ABC External domain of the Commonwealth of Virginia Learning Center (COVLC). Online training instructions and the grant application are on our website at https://www.abc.virginia.gov/education/grants. (To locate the training within the COVLC, search for “ABC EPS – Grant Application Training” and click on the option that is “Checked in.”) Applications are due by April 25 at 5 p.m.
Please contact me if you have any questions. We look forward to receiving your applications! (Please also forward this message to any colleagues who may be interested in this opportunity.)
